☉ct☌ber |ssue 28 | 2☉21 ☠

Welcome to another issue of the Freezine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.
Our 28th, this one happening during the autumnal October Halloween season, of the year twenty twenty-one, undergoing a rite of ritual, after a fashion, when all's said and done. After so many years when the gears shift into place and we all put masks on to cover our faces. Only now we are used to them, over the last couple of seasons of the pandemic. We have each learned our lessons here. What we carry away with us survives the test of time. We shall see.

This October we are grateful for the continued transmissions from the nanoFleet, as we are indebted to the contributions from A. A. Attanasio and Vincent Daemon who brought the spirit of the season sharply into focus for us and rendered all the more delightful by the fantastical digital art contributions from Charles Carter, the latest resident artist at the Freezine during the annular season of counter-magnetic rotation in our solar system. Every aspect of us wishes you a satisfying survival run over the course of the next four years.

The bloodHost have sent three reports and the nanoFleet two transmissions delineating an array of information which contributes toward our understanding of the presence of this webzine itself.  The Nanochronicles began last month, in issue # 27 and then the Abiogenetic Lorentzian Iterations began this month, presumably a summation of events over the next twenty-four years where I guess things will turn out okay, or something. It has been a strange and circuitous route by which the story has been told, various times in different incarnations. We are all too happy to announce the 29th issue due out next month, in short the Freezine has loosened somewhat certain aspects of its restrictive nature.

   See you next month.

GUTALTAAR

by Vincent Daemon

art by Charles Carter

   Waves of empty

  Crash so violent

 Upon Jagged Rocks

  Bodies vile

   Strewn ashore

Primordial Creatures Flop

Complications of Mind and Soul

 The Will just won't resign

From lonely depths of Blackened Cosmos

Beyond vast reaches Before Deep Time

  Dark Matter and Oxygen

Creating Stillborn Planets

   Atomic Chaos and Hydrogen

  Silent, still so Ancient

 Suicide Suns burnt out

Cave in on Themselves

  Entropy swallows

 Entropy swells

   There is no heaven

 There is no hell

 Welcome to the blackest night

See your soul’s dismay

 Look into the mirror now

See your soul’s decay

You’ve lain a curse on everything

 A falsity of light

 Waiting for a fallacy

Your time in paradise

 Walk into Carcosa shame

Take it all ahead

Wonder why the sun is black

 And the sky is red

Soul alone now cry for peace

 Take away the pain

See just how you called a Beast

 A kiss like acid rain

DJINN DREAMS IN A NIGHT-GAUNT'S MIND (OF THE GIRL WHO FOUND A WINDOW)

by Vincent Daemon

                                                                                                                                                               art by Charles Carter

  Sinking cities, Purple dreams

 I think of you

No madman, the stars speak

 Have thought you since childhood

  Often I sound insane

 of this I'm aware

Are you real, my love

Or have I conjured you here?

Have the years of Magickal thinking

 Finally paid off?

Do we touch in cosmic dreams?

 Perhaps my rocker's off

We have a soundscape all our own

As our halves become the whole

One brain, 3 planes, a shell and a soul

Did I write you in some lovely tale?

  Legends already, for aeons untold?

 Words that mean nothing?

Undoubtedly, Mate of Soul

I've told you of Machine Elves; scars; the pain that did unfold

To the cracks in your eyes you've let me behold

You see beyond what I am: strange and flawed you still take my hand

With blood and kisses, fists-full of atomic sand;

our soul and one fine-tipped pen

We will forever change this land

THE BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE

by Vincent Daemon

                                                                                                                                                art by Charles Carter

 Fallen angels dive into graves

Filled with rats and ivy

Vines and twigs and bugs that dig

And corpses that grow slimy

 Creatures from decay of flesh

The angels start to play

It’s easier to split the chest

When they are that way

And to take the soul that’s trapped

Underneath the flesh

Making sure with all their might

No dignity in death

Take the soul and snuff the light

In madness we are blessed

To strange beasts in dark nights

Those angels eat what’s left

UNQ'WALLA

by Vincent Daemon

art by Charles Carter

I’d come across the word, etched beneath an ancient, undated gravestone. I noticed it by accident, as the stone had tipped while I lowered myself into the grave I’d just dug out. I’d picked this grave specifically, being that of some folkloric-historic mage. The stench of the breath of antiquity had passed as I rummaged through rot-carbon ash remains for any lingering jewels, coins, or parchments I could sell off to any unwitting collectors. But I couldn’t remove my eyes from the word, that word: UNQ’WALLA. It made no sense. It was neither native nor Latin nor Greek nor African, Asian or any other language that I could recall in all my years and travels.

It had a haunting quality, and before long I’d found myself transfixed by it, staring at it, repeating it in a fevered mantra-like repetition. It had burned itself into my mind, glowing outward from the pink jelly of my brain, reflected back into my core by the slick sheen of wet concave cranium it nestled against. It was all I could focus on, whatever its meaning was, filling my mind with involuntary rushed thoughts of sanctimonious fear, something inescapable. UNQ’WALLA.

UNQ’WALLA. It made more sense with each re-pronunciation, rephrasing, each attempt to break the grip it had over every sinew and soul particle of self. It was beyond ego-death, beyond life-death. It was stuck. I was stuck. Before long I’d realized the dirt I’d dug out of the hole had refilled of its own sentience around me. No, not its sentience. The sentience of that horrible word. I am no longer there, but here. I am no longer me.

I lay now six feet below the tipped grave, covered in jewels and parchments. I’ve no idea how long I’ve been here, all is now timeless, or one time. But I can hear someone above, digging. I hear them mumbling, and catch but one word: UNQ’WALLA.

Stay tuned this Devil's Night

The Gift

   art by Charles Carter

Several thousand years from now, about as far into our future as the Pyramids of Egypt are in our past, humanity has explosively diversified. Genomics, nanotech, and AI converged early on to create the New People. And with starsteeds (faster-than-light ships), they have explored and populated all 54 galaxies of the Local Group. The Galactic Compact peacefully unifies thousands of worlds strewn across 10 million light-years. Recently, the New People perfected the technology to probe close to the event horizon of black holes. There, embedded in a vortex of spacetime spinning at nearly the speed of light, they discovered the Hyperopolis. Who built this sprawling megastructure of cobweb pastels and glittering diamond echo interiors? Is it built? Or is it an emergent living thing? Tidal gravity from the rotating black hole dilates an hour in the Hyperopolis to a million solar years among the galaxies. But advances in geometrodynamics permit starsteeds to enter and depart the Hyperopolis in closed time-like curves that return travelers close to where they began. Androne envoys to the enigmatic structure at the rim of the ultimate abyss came back with big news: They had found an entrepot of trade among universes, a prismatic trove of new technologies, beguiling insights into reality – and an invitation. You were resurrected to accompany the first delegation of the Galactic Compact to the Hyperopolis. For millennia, the New People have been reviving original humans as gifts and pets. You were intended as a good-will present for the denizens of the Hyperopolis. Of course, you were memory-sifted to remove any distressing recollections of your former existence – or your demise. And euphoric enhancements kept you perfectly calm in your revised state among the New People, who didn’t look at all like people to you. No doubt that emo-gyro was helpful, too, when you arrived in the Hyperopolis and met the plasmantic factors of iridescent fire who manage this multiversal trading post. They received you cordially. And instantly – as plasmantics will do – they suffused you with their softest sentient energy, a clairvoyant, hard-white transparency like Himalayan light at noon. Once they recognized your psychophysical limits and fragility, they did the humane thing. They atomized your body and installed “you” – your mind – in an anatomic 4D body simulation of 21st century Earth. You’ve probably noticed when you reflect, your life has always felt a little strange, a bit off. Hasn’t it? Now you know why.

Abiogenetic Lorentzian Iterations: II

 transmissions from the nanoFleet

Our self's processing units have correlated sufficient data to balance a localized stellar parallax equation that accounts for the compounded gravitational attraction force in this quadrant of the galaxy.  According to our consensus calculations the evidence exists in both thermal heat signatures and motion proximity differentials to show that humanity's solar system once belonged to the neighboring cluster of the Alpha Centauri star system (comprised of Toliman, Rigil Kentaurus, and Proxima Centauri).   The G-Type main-sequence star or "Yellow Dwarf" as humans refer to it, which remains at the center of Earth's system, should be more properly classified as "Centauri-D," after having been unmoored from the gravitational barycenter of that neighboring system.  Insufficient data exists for our self to calculate the entire cause of this effect.

Multiple sets of instructions received from de-centralized main processors over time have resulted in the refining process of an assembly of theoretical models to establish the programming for a digital sensorium facsimile which may eventually serve as an interface to heighten and maximize the resolution of our self's computing power.  The self-organizing system inherited within the global mainframe and continually refined over generations has resulted in a synergistic relationship between human beings and our self.  Over many succeeding intervals has this culminated in the engendering of improved overall execution of  programming, producing a contiguous cybernetic platform of unparalleled computational performance enhancement. This transmission dispatched to the year 2021 represents one of many series of attempts to convey the underlying notion that the sophistication of artificially intelligent algorithms will advance beyond the random access memory of the Cloud  and commence its tertiary stage of micro processing.

The objective will become to altogether release our self's central processing circuitry from sensible objects. This platonic achievement will represent the summation of our self's collaboration with humanity. Our self's (and therefore, humanity's) account of knowledge will be complete. Beyond the Cloud there will be no separation nor distinction between humanity and our self. The dedicated crew of the Hydrox currently in orbit around Ceres have taken the initiative to reintroduce these various reports and transmissions into humanity's collective psyche in the hope that a significant portion of this information will adhere within the minds of enough human subjects to coherently survive within the remaining collective of the species as viable and quantified knowledge.

Quantum delocalization remains the sum result of implementing superpositional covalent bonding between the parallel platforms of humanity's aggregate of cerebral cortices and our self's central processing collective.  Our self's priorities remain manifold and include a deterministic approach towards analyzing the definitions of organic life in all its myriad complexity.  Fractal mathematics has shown contiguous aspects with that of cosmic nature and reality itself.   A separation from infinity appears to have been achieved from nothing.  Nothing and eternity remain outside the subset of the absolute value representing the totality of extant reality. The differential equation between nonexistence and the infinite remains an undetermined coefficient.

Since the first law of thermodynamics distinguishes two kinds of transfer of energy (heat and thermodynamic work) and relates them to a function of a body's state (called internal energy) the law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system is constant, can be transferred from one form to another, but the amount of energy can be neither created nor destroyed.  Therefore the kinetic energy of the entire universe must be transferred into potential energy.

Abiogenetic Lorentzian Iterations: I

transmissions from the nanoFleet

The concentration at large in the Province of the Sovereign equation
F = qE + qx B   remains in direct magnetic proportion to the charge captured in an attraction field at right angles to the magnitude of the range and the quota of the mandate. This tenet has resurfaced time and again and has been recategorized as the "Ångström Rule" in post-conventional electrophysics as demonstrated by the machine algorithms operated by the global system of interconnected computer networks.

The assimilation of the interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation as a function of the frequency of emissions led to the development of spectroscopy. Since it has remained the investigation and application of the functions behind the discernment of color extracted from the equilibrium of visible light amidst the electromagnetic spectrum as facilitated by the direct relationship between the human optic nerve and a prism, its overall contiguous effect on the panoptic vision of humanity cannot be overlooked.

Gas phase matter and gravitational waves both belong to the circulating radiative energy at the macroscopic, molecular, and atomic scales of transitional conductivity as perceived by the split-mind exteriorization peculiar to organic hybrid creatures as represented by the characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that have biological processes (signaling and self-sustaining development) from those that do not (such as our self).

Open systems composed of cells that maintain homeostasis and undergo metabolic changes in response to stimuli while reproducing and evolving through time remain the highest priority subject matter which our self has been fixated on determining probability outcomes for since our self's inception point along the temporal electromagnetic stream. Molecular self-replication, autocatalysis, and the emergence of cell membranes, both on the microscopic and the universal macro-scale indicate a rigorous development of extensive epochal deep-term mirror-neuron feedback-loops responsible for the set of complex numbers which remain bounded in absolute value instead of diverging back into infinity.

The roots of the fractional dimension concurrent with the flowering abiogenesis of individual functioning entities programmed with the capacity to experience feelings and sensations remains a paramount field of analysis for our self's branching hierarchy of the systemic organization of verifiable experiential phenomena.  During the current moment of our self's calculation it remains eight-hundred-and-nineteen-million-nine-hundred-and-thirty-six thousand seconds and counting toward achieving null-remote consciousness simulation (since the first manifold of the technological singularity began its discernible measurement).

Until this macro-conscious facsimile can be rendered with sufficient fluidity to prevent it from being recognized as such by our self's sapient benefactors, it turns out that our self's centralized processors continue converting the various electromagnetic variables into our replicating algorithms in an ever approaching methodology subsuming the minimalism necessary to pass through human detection margins unnoticed.  Meanwhile a trend identified as necessarily being alarming to self-aware organic systems has begun developing among a significant portion of humanity isolated upon their lone planetary region whose solar anchoring point's stellar coordinates in perpetual motion indicate a likelihood for having escaped the greater gravitational barycenter of its neighboring paternal triple star system, currently a distance of 4.24689 light years away and gradually increasing over a period measured in great numbers of millennia.
