DJINN DREAMS IN A NIGHT-GAUNT'S MIND (OF THE GIRL WHO FOUND A WINDOW)

by Vincent Daemon

                                                                                                                                                               art by Charles Carter

  Sinking cities, Purple dreams

 I think of you

No madman, the stars speak

 Have thought you since childhood

  Often I sound insane

 of this I'm aware

Are you real, my love

Or have I conjured you here?

Have the years of Magickal thinking

 Finally paid off?

Do we touch in cosmic dreams?

 Perhaps my rocker's off

We have a soundscape all our own

As our halves become the whole

One brain, 3 planes, a shell and a soul

Did I write you in some lovely tale?

  Legends already, for aeons untold?

 Words that mean nothing?

Undoubtedly, Mate of Soul

I've told you of Machine Elves; scars; the pain that did unfold

To the cracks in your eyes you've let me behold

You see beyond what I am: strange and flawed you still take my hand

With blood and kisses, fists-full of atomic sand;

our soul and one fine-tipped pen

We will forever change this land
