Welcome to the Freezine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. A non-monetized, ad-free blog in Google's domain that exists as a placid oasis amidst a slick of rainbow colored oil spills that help define the cyber scape bending away from our eyes in a dizzying array of hidden directories blossoming both above and below the waterline of the rising tide of information being processed on the world wide web today.
We'd like to consider ourselves a venue like a roadside club hosting a rock and roll show disguised as a community bound online creative writing workshop, what started out just over fifteen years ago as an effort to create a twenty-first century science fiction digital fanzine has taken precarious electromagnetic root and flourished in its own way into its singular and proper form as a metamorphosing serial digest of fantastic fiction for all to feel free to contribute to and enjoy.
I mean it's just a free fanzine for your phone. All quality no loss. The freezine of fantasy and science fiction may be a lot of things but it's never in a hurry. Currently across the nation major industries suffer from a lack of staffing while thousands of job offers remain unfulfilled, and it seems that very few if any applicants step forward to claim these positions. This may be likened to the pulling back of the tide, revealing thousands of scattered sea shells glimmering in the sunlight for the taking, strewn pieces of nature's porcelain called jobs.
After a few moments suspended like the measure of a heartbeat the tide accelerates back in, sweeping all the sea shells up into the turbulence. Such it is in the minds and measures of men, and such it has always been. Within the economic tides of circumstance, we pull back from the shore in hopes the next waves will bring in another trove of riches. We move with the tides and the rhythms of the seas. Regardless of where we may end up stranded high and dry the blood in our veins pumps parallel to the waves pounding in to the shore.
Every heart is an oasis sent from the deepest ocean. A remote observer stalking the desert of the mind. Blossoming into consciousness in clusters amid the hanging gardens of the universe. Here together yet oddly apart as we each get slowly sucked down our own independent vortices. Our screams a haunting legacy left draped in suspension upon the very air before us yet somehow without a sound.
Thank you for stopping by and reading this far from the hidden depths of our cyberzine. There's no way of really knowing how much longer it'll be around, so if you're here check the margins for a drop down menu of authors and their story thumbnails, just click on the interesting ones and read the stories that all migrated here from the fingertips of a most generous host of writers out there, go ahead and check it out for yourself. It's not often that you'll find an organized selection of fantastical fiction from such a razor sharp slice of writers.
Stay tuned for more eerie writing to come as our currently shifting edition takes shape on the cold drafts of another October perched on the cusp of becoming Oblivion once again. Thus we feel the delicious frisson of sensation, like a black cat walking over our grave, of the very thrill and tension of being alive...knowing deep inside this haunted season will not survive.
